COVID-19 UPDATE

The situation around the global COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve on a daily, even hourly basis across Canada. At this time, Ottawa Fastener Supply stores remain open and will continue to operate. We are committed to serving the needs of our customers, especially our industrial clients and the general public with pressing requirements for our products and services.
You have supported us over the years, and we are here to support you through this crisis. However, we also support the concept of ‘flattening the curve’ and are adhering to all the guidelines issued by Ottawa Public Health and Public Health Agency of Canada. To that effect, we are taking all necessary precautions to keep our stores as safe as possible, for you, as well as for our employees and associates.
A quick update on the steps that we have taken so far:
Comprehensive Sanitation: Protecting your health and wellbeing is our number one priority. Besides our routine housekeeping policies, we have introduced additional safety and hygiene protocols to ensure heightened protection for our employees and customers. We are following robust sanitation measures, including frequent hand washing, use of hand sanitizers, and rigorous store cleaning several times per day.
Social Distancing: In accordance with the recommended social distancing norms, we are discouraging in-person transactions, as much as possible. To limit traffic into our store, we request all customers to call (613) 828-5311 or email sales@ottawafastenersupply.com and place your orders ahead. Our customer service representatives would be happy to pick up the items on your list, and arrange delivery or safe pickup options, based on your preference. If you cannot avoid shopping in-store, please note that we are limiting store access through people counts and enforcing physical distancing.
Inventory Prioritization: We understand that the uncertainty around the current situation and apprehension over stock availability has resulted in panic buying. However, our customer service teams are working relentlessly to guide customers, and limit discretionary shopping, as well as hoarding. We assure you that we have prioritized our inventory and will continue to do our best to keep restocking in-demand items.
Staff Health Measures: We are taking all necessary steps to protect the health and wellbeing of our employees. In addition to strict hygiene practices, we provide our staff with up-to-date information to help them make informed decisions about their health and safety. While employees who are feeling unwell have been advised to stay at home, we have extended this option to any of our staff members, who feel more comfortable to self-isolate.
As of Wednesday March 25, 2020, a state of emergency has been declared in Ottawa. We are closely monitoring the directives issued by the federal, provincial and municipal health officials, and will continue to make adjustments in our operating procedures based on further guidelines.
